WHY CHOOSE AN RDN?
A Registered Dietitian Nutritionist can help you navigate through the confusing misinformation that's widely circulated.

Registered Dietitians are considered the Nutrition Experts.
A registered dietitian nutritionist and a nutritionist differ in many ways. Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDNs) complete an extensive education program and training. RDNs are required to earn a bachelor's degree through a program approved by The Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition & Dietetics (ACEND). RDNs then complete a 1200-hour accredited supervised practice program. Following the practice program, they are required to pass a national examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration. Continuing education is required on an ongoing basis to maintain registration. Nutritionists, on the other hand, are not required to have any specialized training or schooling.

RDNs are specifically trained to work with individuals who have chronic diseases, using medical nutrition therapy and nutrition education to teach individuals how to manage their diet through proper nutrition. RDNs work in a wide variety of other settings. Below are a few ways RDNs use their skills:
-Develop successful weight management programs
-Navigate food intolerances and allergies
-Work in maternal, infant and child nutrition
-Assist with menu planning and meal prep
-Teach how to eat healthy on a budget
-Management of chronic diseases
-Sports nutrition
